The rules of the road for using Sparky: what you get from us, and what we ask in return.
What these terms cover today
Right now, Sparky has not shipped a product and is not selling anything. The only thing you can do on this site is join a free waitlist by leaving your email. That waitlist is covered by the short, plain Waitlist Terms: free, no payment, no commitment, you can unsubscribe and have your email deleted at any time.
The sections below describe how the future Sparky product and service will work once they ship. They are published now as a statement of intent so you know what to expect. Final, binding terms will be published, and reviewed by counsel, before the first device is shipped or any payment is taken.
What Sparky is
Sparky is a soft, voice-first cube designed as a screen-free companion for kids 6 to 10. It works alongside a parent app that lets you set up, manage, and review your child's use.
Who can use it
- Accounts are opened by an adult (18+) who is the parent or legal guardian of the child using the device.
- The adult takes responsibility for setup, payment, and for explaining to the child what Sparky is and is not.
- One Sparky cube serves one family. Multiple kids in the same home are fine; sharing across households requires separate accounts.
What we promise
- A working device, kept up to date with safety and content improvements.
- Reasonable uptime for the services it depends on. We will publish a status page when the product ships.
- Honest communication: if something changes that affects you, we will tell you in advance.
- Honoring our privacy commitments, even when it is inconvenient for us.
What we ask of you
- Use Sparky for its intended purpose: a companion for a child in a family setting.
- Don't attempt to bypass safety filters, reverse-engineer the device, or use it commercially without a separate agreement.
- Keep your account credentials safe. Tell us promptly if something looks off.
Subscription and billing (future)
When the product ships, Sparky is planned as a one-time device purchase plus a service subscription that powers the on-device companion. Pricing, billing cycle, and refund policy will be published with the final terms ahead of first ship.
Today there are no payments of any kind. Joining the waitlist is free, does not authorize any charge, and does not create a purchase contract. We do not collect payment details on this site. If and when pre-orders open for real, you will see a separate, clearly priced checkout with its own terms.
Safety and supervision
Sparky is designed to be safe, but no automated system is perfect. The parent app gives you tools to review what is said and to pause the device. We expect adults to remain involved. Sparky is a companion, not a substitute for parenting.
Liability
Like every consumer product, Sparky comes with reasonable limits on liability that will be spelled out in the final terms. Nothing in those limits will reduce rights that the law in your country gives you as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
When we publish the final terms, we will email account holders. Future material changes will go through at least 30 days' notice, with a clear summary of what is changing and why.
